Description
This flavorful dish combines tender chicken, a rich creamy sauce, and a kick of Cajun spice, perfect for any weeknight dinner or special occasion.
Ingredients
- 8 oz fettuccine (or your favorite pasta)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast, diced
- 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- ¼ cup butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp honey
- ½ cup heavy cream
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta until al dente according to the package directions. Drain and reserve ½ cup of the pasta water. Set aside.
- Season the diced chicken with Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper, ensuring each piece is coated.
- Heat the olive oil over medium-high heat in a large skillet. Once hot, add the chicken in a single layer, cooking for 6–8 minutes until golden and cooked through. Remove the chicken and set it aside.
- Lower the heat to medium. Add the butter to the skillet and let it melt. Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Mix in the honey and let it simmer gently for 1 minute.
- Pour in the heavy cream, stirring until smooth and slightly thickened, about 2–3 minutes.
- Return the chicken to the pan, tossing to coat in the sauce.
- Add the cooked pasta and toss everything together until the noodles are well coated. Use the reserved pasta water if the sauce needs thinning.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot!
Notes
For added flavor, consider marinating the chicken in Cajun seasoning for a few hours before cooking. Adjust the seasoning to your taste for extra spice.
