Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs chicken pieces
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Soak the chicken pieces in buttermilk for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
  2. In another bowl, combine the flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat until bubbling.
  4. Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, letting excess drip off, and dredge each piece in the flour mixture until completely coated.
  5. Fry the chicken in the hot oil for about 15-20 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Drain the fried chicken on paper towels before serving.

Notes

For extra crispiness, consider double dredging the chicken for a crunchier texture.
