Description
A delightful rolled chicken dish with ham and Swiss cheese that is perfect for family dinners and gatherings.
Ingredients
- 4 chicken breasts
- 4 slices of ham
- 4 slices of Swiss cheese
- 1 cup of breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Place chicken breasts between two pieces of plastic wrap and pound them out to about 1/4 inch thick.
- Season the chicken with salt and pepper generously.
- Lay a slice of ham and a slice of cheese on each chicken breast.
- Roll each breast tightly and secure with toothpicks.
- Set up a dredging station: one plate for flour, one for beaten eggs, and one for breadcrumbs.
- Dredge each chicken roll in flour, dip in eggs, and then coat with breadcrumbs.
- Heat butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Brown each chicken roll on all sides, then transfer them to a baking dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.
- Remove toothpicks and slice to serve.
Notes
For a gluten-free version, consider using gluten-free breadcrumbs and flour.
