A delightful rolled chicken dish with ham and Swiss cheese that is perfect for family dinners and gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 4 slices of ham
  • 4 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup of breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place chicken breasts between two pieces of plastic wrap and pound them out to about 1/4 inch thick.
  3. Season the chicken with salt and pepper generously.
  4. Lay a slice of ham and a slice of cheese on each chicken breast.
  5. Roll each breast tightly and secure with toothpicks.
  6. Set up a dredging station: one plate for flour, one for beaten eggs, and one for breadcrumbs.
  7. Dredge each chicken roll in flour, dip in eggs, and then coat with breadcrumbs.
  8. Heat butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  9. Brown each chicken roll on all sides, then transfer them to a baking dish.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.
  11. Remove toothpicks and slice to serve.

Notes

For a gluten-free version, consider using gluten-free breadcrumbs and flour.
