Description

A comforting and hearty dish featuring tender chicken in a rich gravy, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil or butter
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: garlic powder, onion powder

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Season the chicken with salt, pepper, and optional spices.
  3. Add the chicken to the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side until fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
  4. Whisk the flour into the remaining drippings in the skillet, then slowly add the chicken broth, scraping up any brown bits.
  5. Pour the gravy over the cooked chicken in the skillet and let it simmer for about 3-5 minutes until thickened.
  6. Serve hot!

Notes

Great served over mashed potatoes or rice to soak up the gravy. Pairs well with steamed green beans or salad.
