A cozy, hearty one-pan meal combining tender steak, creamy cheese, and perfectly cooked rice.
Ingredients
- 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye), cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup uncooked rice (white or brown)
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: bell peppers, cooked veggies
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the chopped onion and sauté until it turns translucent.
- Toss in the steak pieces and cook until they’re nicely browned.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
- Add the uncooked rice and beef broth to the skillet, bringing it to a gentle boil.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for about 20 minutes or until the rice is tender.
- Remove from heat and fold in the shredded cheese until it’s melted and creamy.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
For best results, sear the steak and adjust liquid if using brown rice. Experiment with different cheese types for variety.
