A cozy, hearty one-pan meal combining tender steak, creamy cheese, and perfectly cooked rice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye), cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup uncooked rice (white or brown)
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: bell peppers, cooked veggies

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and sauté until it turns translucent.
  3. Toss in the steak pieces and cook until they’re nicely browned.
  4. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  5. Add the uncooked rice and beef broth to the skillet, bringing it to a gentle boil.
  6. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for about 20 minutes or until the rice is tender.
  7. Remove from heat and fold in the shredded cheese until it’s melted and creamy.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

For best results, sear the steak and adjust liquid if using brown rice. Experiment with different cheese types for variety.
