Description
Juicy, caramelized chicken infused with a sweet and savory marinade reminiscent of tropical islands.
Ingredients
- 4 chicken thighs
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup pineapple juice
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon minced ginger
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 green onions, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Whisk together the soy sauce, pineapple juice, brown sugar, minced garlic, minced ginger, ketchup, and sesame oil until well combined.
- Add the chicken thighs to the marinade, ensuring each piece is fully coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 120 minutes—overnight is even better for maximum flavor.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- Remove the chicken thighs from the marinade and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Grill the chicken for about 6-7 minutes per side, basting with the marinade, until cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Garnish with chopped green onions before serving. Enjoy your Huli Huli Chicken!
Notes
For a leaner option, substitute chicken thighs with chicken breasts, but adjust cooking times accordingly.
