Description

Tender, juicy chicken thighs coated in a savory soy and garlic sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 3 tbsp potato starch
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 3 tbsp neutral oil for frying
  • 8 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 stalks green onion (green and white parts separated)
  • 1 tsp red chili flakes
  • 1/2 cup chicken stock
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • Green onion greens (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken thighs dry with a paper towel.
  2. Mix potato starch, all-purpose flour, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper on a large plate.
  3. Coat each chicken thigh in the mixture, ensuring even coverage.
  4. Heat neutral oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat.
  5. Add the coated chicken thighs to the pan and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 7 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  6. Add minced garlic, white parts of green onion, and red chili flakes to the pan. Sauté for 3 minutes until garlic is golden.
  7. Pour in the sauce ingredients and let cook for about a minute until slightly thickened.
  8. Return the chicken to the pan and cook for another 5 minutes until fully cooked through.
  9. Serve hot, garnished with green onion greens and sesame seeds.

Notes

Ensure chicken is dry before dredging. Heat oil properly for best frying results.
