Tender, juicy chicken thighs coated in a savory soy and garlic sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 3 tbsp potato starch
- 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 3 tbsp neutral oil for frying
- 8 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 stalks green onion (green and white parts separated)
- 1 tsp red chili flakes
- 1/2 cup chicken stock
- 3 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- Green onion greens (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- Pat the chicken thighs dry with a paper towel.
- Mix potato starch, all-purpose flour, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper on a large plate.
- Coat each chicken thigh in the mixture, ensuring even coverage.
- Heat neutral oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat.
- Add the coated chicken thighs to the pan and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 7 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
- Add minced garlic, white parts of green onion, and red chili flakes to the pan. Sauté for 3 minutes until garlic is golden.
- Pour in the sauce ingredients and let cook for about a minute until slightly thickened.
- Return the chicken to the pan and cook for another 5 minutes until fully cooked through.
- Serve hot, garnished with green onion greens and sesame seeds.
Notes
Ensure chicken is dry before dredging. Heat oil properly for best frying results.
