Description

A delightful crispy chicken sandwich infused with classic Caesar flavors, perfect for lunch or a casual dinner.

Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 slices of crusty bread (like ciabatta or sourdough)
  • 2 cups romaine lettuce, chopped
  • 1/4 cup additional grated Parmesan cheese
  • Optional: sliced tomatoes and crispy bacon

Instructions

  1. Begin by marinating the chicken breasts in buttermilk for at least an hour, or overnight if possible.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Take each marinated chicken breast and dredge it in the flour mixture, ensuring it’s evenly coated.
  5. Carefully place the chicken in the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and fully cooked, about 6-7 minutes per side.
  6. While the chicken cooks, combine mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, and Parmesan cheese in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Toast the slices of crusty bread until they’re golden brown.
  8. Once the bread is ready, spread a generous amount of Caesar dressing on each slice.
  9. Top with a crispy chicken breast, followed by chopped romaine, additional Parmesan, and any optional toppings like tomatoes or bacon.
  10. Assemble the sandwich and enjoy your crispy creation!

Notes

For an even crispier coating, consider double-dipping the chicken in buttermilk and flour. Use store-bought Caesar dressing for a quicker recipe.
