A delightful crispy chicken sandwich infused with classic Caesar flavors, perfect for lunch or a casual dinner.
Ingredients
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 4 slices of crusty bread (like ciabatta or sourdough)
- 2 cups romaine lettuce, chopped
- 1/4 cup additional grated Parmesan cheese
- Optional: sliced tomatoes and crispy bacon
Instructions
- Begin by marinating the chicken breasts in buttermilk for at least an hour, or overnight if possible.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
- Take each marinated chicken breast and dredge it in the flour mixture, ensuring it’s evenly coated.
- Carefully place the chicken in the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and fully cooked, about 6-7 minutes per side.
- While the chicken cooks, combine mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, and Parmesan cheese in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Toast the slices of crusty bread until they’re golden brown.
- Once the bread is ready, spread a generous amount of Caesar dressing on each slice.
- Top with a crispy chicken breast, followed by chopped romaine, additional Parmesan, and any optional toppings like tomatoes or bacon.
- Assemble the sandwich and enjoy your crispy creation!
Notes
For an even crispier coating, consider double-dipping the chicken in buttermilk and flour. Use store-bought Caesar dressing for a quicker recipe.
