Succulent, bone-in chicken thighs bathed in a rich, creamy garlic sauce, perfect for impressing guests or enjoying a cozy family meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs (about 2 lbs, pat them very dry)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 6 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 cup low sodium chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken thighs completely dry with paper towels.
  2. Season them generously on all sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place the chicken thighs skin-side down and sear for 6-8 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Flip the chicken and cook for an additional 5-6 minutes until cooked through. Remove the chicken and set aside.
  5. Reduce heat to medium and add butter to the skillet. Once melted, add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds.
  6. Pour in the chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits, and let it simmer for 3-4 minutes.
  7. Stir in heavy cream and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens.
  8. Lower heat and mix in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
  9. Return chicken thighs to the skillet, spoon sauce over them, and garnish with fresh parsley.
  10. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

For optimal crispy skin, ensure chicken thighs are very dry before seasoning. Freshly grated Parmesan adds richer flavor compared to pre-packaged options.
