Delicious Chicken Kofta featuring ground chicken, aromatic spices, and a velvety creamy garlic yogurt sauce, perfect for a flavorful weeknight dinner or impressing guests.

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (plus 2 more for the sauce)
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped onion, minced garlic (reserve 2 cloves for the sauce), cumin, coriander, paprika, salt, black pepper, and parsley. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
  2. Form the mixture into small oval-shaped kofta.
  3. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium heat. Cook the kofta for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until fully cooked through and browned.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, and salt to create your creamy garlic yogurt sauce.
  5. Serve the kofta warm, accompanied by the creamy garlic yogurt sauce on the side.

Notes

Feel free to substitute ground chicken with ground turkey or lean beef. Serve with pita bread, fresh vegetables, or over rice.
