Description
A savory dish of tender chicken breasts stuffed with sautéed mushrooms and garlic butter, topped with melted cheese, perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions.
Ingredients
- 4 chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup mushrooms, chopped
- 4 tablespoons garlic butter
- 1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella or cheddar)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Optional: Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped mushrooms and sauté for about 5-7 minutes.
- Season the sautéed mushrooms with salt and pepper, remove from heat, and stir in 2 tablespoons of garlic butter until melted.
- Cut a pocket into each chicken breast and stuff each pocket generously with the mushroom mixture.
- Melt the remaining garlic butter in a large oven-safe skillet. Once hot, add the stuffed chicken breasts and sear on both sides until golden brown (about 4-5 minutes per side).
- Sprinkle shredded cheese on each chicken breast.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes until chicken is cooked through and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from oven, garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve warm.
Notes
Don’t overstuff the chicken to avoid bursting. Ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C) for safety.
