Description

This Balsamic Baked Chicken Breast is a delightful dish that blends the tangy sweetness of balsamic vinegar with tender, juicy chicken, making it perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • Fresh basil leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade: In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine balsamic vinegar, olive oil, honey, minced garlic, dried oregano, and dried thyme. Whisk together until well blended.
  2. Marinade the Chicken: Season the marinade with salt and pepper. Place chicken breasts in a plastic bag or dish, pour over marinade, and seal tightly.
  3. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  4. Prepare the Baking Dish: Remove chicken from the fridge and let sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes. Line a baking dish with foil and lightly grease.
  5. Bake the Chicken: Place marinated chicken in the dish, pour remaining marinade on top, and bake for 25-30 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  6. Rest and Serve: Let the chicken rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired.

Notes

For maximum flavor, marinate the chicken longer if possible. Basting halfway through cooking can enhance moisture.
