Description
A delightful combination of tender chicken breasts smothered in a savory garlic and Parmesan crust. Perfect for busy weeknights or impressing guests.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup (about 100g) breadcrumbs (preferably whole-wheat)
- 1/2 cup (about 50g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (like basil, oregano, or thyme)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional garnish)
- Lemon wedges (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper.
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, minced garlic, olive oil, and dried herbs. Mix well until the crumbs are evenly coated.
- Dip each seasoned chicken breast into the breadcrumb mixture, pressing down to ensure a good coating on all sides.
- Place the coated chicken breasts on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the coating is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let the chicken rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley and lemon wedges for an added touch.
Notes
For an attractive presentation, slice the baked chicken before serving and arrange it on a platter. A squeeze of fresh lemon over the top just before serving enhances the dish’s flavor profile beautifully.
